In this episode, I am thrilled to be joined by Bojane Segooa. She is well on her way to establishing herself as a young business leader. She is an academic, social entrepreneur and Chartered Accountant registered with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA). She has over 9 years’ experience in corporate and academia specializing in financial management, auditing and tax, and is an active advocate for the economic empowerment of women.

Bojane’s main interest is an innovation called Levelsapp which uses innovation and technology to provide solutions to societal problems. She is a recipient the News24 100 Young Mandelas of the future award, that remembers Nelson Mandela’s legacy by celebrating young people who demonstrate a remarkable drive to succeed in their personal lives and to make a difference in the lives of others.

Bojane sits on the board of RH Bophelo Ltd, a healthcare investment company listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange and cross-listed on the Rwanda Stock Exchange.

We discuss a range of topics including the following:

  1. Her decision to serve through her various roles

  2. Staying motivated in the face of success

  3. The Levels App – and how it is contributing to reducing unemployment in South Africa

  4. How you and I can be active citizens
